New Bakery? - Asbury Park

Was driving down Cookman Ave and noticed a storefront that seemed to have loaves of bread in the window - does anyone know if it is a new bakery or what it is exactly? It is across the street from Old Man Rafferty's about a store or 2 off the corner.

It's called Asbury Pie and it is a gourmet pizza place......have not tried it, saw it on Saturday

No it is not a new bakery but new pizza joint that keeps loaves bread in the window for some odd reason. The wife and I spotted it a week ago and took a look see...

A friend and I ordered a pizza to go from Asbury Pie last week. 5 cheese. Absolutely yummy. Nice friendly staff there, great menu. I'd say the pizza gives Pete and Elda's some serious competition.

How would you describe the pizza? Was the crust cracker thin ala Pete and Elda's?

Not cracker crust that snaps but very thin and crisp.

Does Asbury Pie have a web site ? Was interested in their hours for dining room [not to-go], looking over the menu, etc. Sounds great so far.....

I stopped i last week and got 2 slices. They were quite good even when re-heated.
I think they might have to rethink the pricing a bit though. The menu lists:
Turkey and cheese sub $15
Eggplant parm sub $15
Philly sheesesteak $13
Large plain pie $12.95

No, not just you. I noticed the pricing a bit high as well and was not impressed by the cluttered menu with extensive typos that seemed to be thrown together at the last minute so they could get the place open.

However, based on the reviews, I will certainly give this place a try. It is, after all, about the food....
