Boulder Decision - Alba or Colterra?

hans Aug 25, 2009 09:18 AM

A friend has suggested these two locations - she's been to both and somehow we have never made it to either. Which would you choose and why? As a point of reference, our favorites in the area are Johns, the Kitchen and Empire in Louisville.

Much thanks

You're not going to go wrong at either - both have fantastic food, great wine list and attentive service. But if I have to choose, I'd go with Colterra mostly for the location; it's in a beautiful old home in Niwot, and if it's nice out you can sit on a gorgeous patio right next to the veggie and herb garden that supplies the restaurant. Alba has a neat little patio, but it's located in a heavy-traffic area in the McGuckin's parking lot. I'd save Alba for the winter, when you're going to be inside anyway.
