Best place for take out korean banchan for a DIY Korean BBQ?

I'm doing some Korean BBQ at my house...unfortunately I don't have time to make all of the banchan. Does anyone have a favorite place to buy a nice assortment of banchan - I was thinking a takeout place, but I suppose I could also get from a restaurant. K-town preferred.

The Galleria Market in Little Tokyo is catching up...

    2. There's a korean market in Glendale that has a long open bar of banchan and you scoop as much or as little as you want into containers and pay for it by weight. I think it's off Pacific off the 134. I know you said k-town preferred, but I was kind of impressed by the variety they had.

It's called HK Market, and there's on in K-town too, on Western and Beverly (or maybe a block from there).

      2. Banchan a la carte on Western is nice and has better quality stuff than most of the markets. They have the usual traditional stuff as well as some fusion-y stuff - slightly "updated" banchan with fresher/brighter flavors. And you can order ahead if you want large quantities. As far as markets go, I think they're all about the same in terms of quality/asssortment but I do like Galleria the best out of the bunch because it seems cleaner - but that probably has more to do with lighting than anything else...

H K Market is great. Very clean, not crowded and with an amazing banchan bar.

Does anyone know a banchan place in OC? La Habra La Mirada area? I see many Korean restaurants and signs in Korean so I assume their is a good Koreans presence there, but I haven't seen any Korean markets.

A really great one I know is H-Mart off of South Diamond Bar Blvd. in Diamond Bar. While not exactly north OC, its only one exit north of Brea!

Tons of premarinated Kbbq meats and Banchan by the pound.

There's another H-Mart in irvine @Diamond Jamboree plaza

H-Mart has a good selection, iirc, but I'm on a budget these days so I wait until after 6pm or so, when the banchan is marked down at places like Freschia Market in Tustin. I like their banchan actually.

          2. No love for Assi Market's banchan? Cheaper than Galleria.
