Yank Sing
Is there any help in trying to figure out the prices for the deem sum at Yank Sing's? I've searched the board but don't see prices. At Menupages, I found a price list but I'm not sure how accurate it is.

Dim sum (or deem sum, as Yang Sing spells it) is usually priced at 4 levels: small, medium, large, and special. Looks like Yang Sing's pricing structure is $3.85 for small, $4.15 for medium, and $4.90 for large. I don't know what they charge for special dishes.

Last time I was there it was about $35 a person, but I was taking a friend who had never had dim sum before, so we went all out. If you stay away from the items being brought around on trays (as opposed to in the carts), it'll generally be cheaper. There was a price list on the table that time, which was the first time I'd ever seen (or maybe noticed) it, so you can definitely ask for a price list at the outset, they have them.

Personally, my first and last experience wasn't all that great. Provided, it was a Sunday and the place was packed, my friends and I got seated outside in the courtyard which wasn't bad, until the carts started coming around. Most of the items we got were lukewarm for the most part, which probably attributed to the somewhat rubbery skins on some of the dumplings. And for the price, which is a bit more expensive than most Dim Sum places I've ever been to, it just wasn't worth it.
For my money, I think the few extra minutes of driving down the peninsula to Koi Place is worth it, though many would argue that the wait in line once you get there makes it questionably worth it, but I'd still take it over Yank Sing.

They have a sheet with the prices listed; I guess you have to ask for it. The most expensive thing is the sea bass: $16.50. I've never tried it -- don't think I'd want to pay that price. It does not bother me to ask the cart ladies the price of an item. The soup dumplings are expensive but so worth it.
