Screme Gelato and Sorbet

We've been fans for several years of Aldo, the gelato and sorbet place in Israel. When we heard they were opening in NY, under the name Screme, we got very excited. We went for the 1st time yesterday to the store (little hole in wall, actually) on B'way and 68th? and loved, loved, loved it. My family of 4 managed to try all the available flavors, walking out with cups of peanut butter oreo gelato and strawberry sorbet. All of the flavors were delicious, the staff was very accommodating and when we went outside, the owners presented us with "upgrade" coupons for our next visit.
I just hope they bring Screme to Teaneck soon!

There's also one on 42nd between 7th and 8th. In the madame Tussauds. I have been meaning to try it. Thanks for the review.

The stores carry different flavors on the same day. Have fun! Hit them both!

It's Broadway between 69th and 70th (around the corner from Noidue, you can go between the two without crossing the street). Very tasty. It's under R' Mehlman's supervision.

I took my 4 kids there yesterday (yes...from Teaneck, we were planning to go in anyway) and that was RIDICULOUSLY good. Kids got milk chocolate and passion-fruit sorbet and I had the chocolate hazelnut. The pistachio was also really good...but too pistachioed for me..my comment to the staff was " I have never tasted ice cream like this before".

Note to people taking small children:

There closest seating was benches on the traffic island in the middle of broadway and 69th.

Even the small container had too much for my four year old and it was a total mess. I would consider asking them to take some off the top, or put the same size scoop in a bigger container.

I just had maple and it was fantastic. It was sweet without being overly cloying and it had a nice maple flavor to it. The texture was great too. Super smooth without being melty. I wish they had had a chocolate or peanut butter flavor to try, but that just means I'll have to go back again :-)

we were at the one on 69th and broadway-they put our smaller servings in a larger container. we thought it was yummy-we had dark chocolate, cookies and screme and choc peanut butter. the one on upper east side will be a full cafe with even more flavors (madame tussaud location has 16 while the upper west side one had 8)
