SO & I went to Pico (formally Toba) last week for dinner and had a great meal. Menu seems to be very similar to when it was Toba although better prices.

Tried to go for brunch at the weekend but it closed due to power outage in the area.

Glad this place is doing well & will definitely be back.

Just as follow up, they are apparently no longer doing dinner at all now, just lunch and brunch.

Yeah, I saw this too - looks like nothing's been moves out from inside, but eh there's no note, no info on way it's papered up.

Anyone tried Pico recently? I noticed their chalkboard the other day advertising a "new menu" and I'm curious if it's any good, and how different it might be from the old one (which was fine, but I found it odd that the new restaurant and chef kept the same menu for so long!)

Apparently, Pico has entered the Deadpool. A sign on the door says "closed due to circumstances beyond our control". Wonder what happened?

No, they are closed for their annual winter holidays. They open back up on the 16th.

Just walked by a few hours ago to check it out and make sure that I wasn't mistaken. There's a ratehr plain white piece of paper that states that the restaurant is closed due to kitchen renovations and will re-open on Jan 16 for brunch. Good thing too as I quite like that one!

Hi Dab, what do you recommend on the brunch menu? I tried to find something online with no luck. I assume they have the standard quiche, eggs benny, omlets kind of items? Anything stand out?

Went on Friday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The last few times at Toba had been disappointing but Friday night my faith was restored.

Was there Wednesday of last week. Duck and grilled calamari were fantastic.

The wine however is a rip off. I can't remember what I originally ordered but they substituted Fuzion shiraz/malbec. It was bland, tasteless and $45. A quick search of the LCBO later lists this product as $7.45 retail. 600% mark-up? Keep it.
