Any Great Doughnut Recipes?

I'm looking to start making doughnuts and was wondering if anyone had any great recipes. I would love to find both cake and yeast recipes and please include any great toppings as well.

Thanks so much!

This may sound over the top, but it was REALLY good.

Fry your donuts in Clarified Butter.

The high smoke point allows you to fry the donut batter in the butter without burning. And the flavor of the donut is super enhanced.

I love the cake doughnuts in James Beard's American Cookery, the one with nutmeg. One time I didn't realize I didn't have enough fat to fry them, and since I live in a rural area, I ended up baking them. The shape was all wrong, but they still tasted great. I think that dough recipe is just hard to mess up.
