Recommendation for client dinner (9) in midtown?

I have a dinner to arrange for clients on a Tuesday night and I would like something good for a client dinner. Cost is not much of an issue - I'd like to walk out with a bill for less than 3-3.5k but you never know with wine, drinks, etc.

I've not decided yet - but steak houses are usually good for these types of gigs - I myself would love per se or something of that realm but I am afraid it would alienate some of the folks in my party who are not foodies.

Considering: Sparks, Le Bernardin, BLT Steak...any other ideas? Something similar to Bar Americain would be good - but I have eaten there several times and would like to get on to something new.

Couple other options to include:
Anthos
Alto - I think good Italian food should work even for the those who have a fairly conservative palate.

Think Bar Americain is just alright, nothing to get too excited about.
