I use Cuervo Gold, Cointreau, simple syrup instead of sugar, fresh limes and then top each one off with a drizzle of Grand Marnier.

brklynbobby, i know you did not ask but may i suggest that instead of simple syrup you use agave nectar. it's not quite as sweet as sugar and made from the same plant as tequila.

If Brklynbobby is not home, the margarita at Stone Park Cafe is good. I haven't been there in a while, but it was on the cocktail menu, fitting called "El Mejor Margarita"

that's good to know. i just had the margaritas at Hecho in Dumbo and they were excellent. actually all of our food was excellent. it might be one of my new favorite spots.

if you choose to venture into the city Rios on 34th street and 3rd avenue the best margaritas.....ps little secret if you are having margaritas

A tip for you home mixers...get key limes from Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pie shop in Red Hook. They make incredible drinks!!
