Latin American in Central Falls
I still haven't gotten over nor found a replacement for La Casa del Pueblo, but we've been buying food in Union Fruit Market on Broad Street just before the Pawtucket/CF line. It's a store, but they also prepare food.
Their offerings are a little bit schizo, most likely because they're trying to please people from all over Central America as well as Mexico. But their empanadas and tamales were yummy. Husband also brought home chicken and rice which he didn't particularly care for, possibly because he was expecting something else or possibly due to his hangover.
Still trying to figure out the differences in cuisine (he asked for tacos and they came back with what he considers taquitos or flautas), but went by and was excited to see a yummy breakfast offered! Will definitely try it at some point.
They've also got a well stocked grocery, so if you're looking for ingredients for cooking and are from Pawt/CF and don't want to go to the markets in Prov, stop here! Best avocados I've found in the area, a small selection of sweets, and my favorite, Coke in glass bottles.
