Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in the Greater Los Angeles Area (including Orange & Ventura Counties and SW San Bernardino County)

In Hollywood?

Need good food, moderately priced, fairly casual dress, not too noisy place near Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel-Pantages area. Conversation will be important at this dinner. Italian, Chinese, American, Greek , Thai- all okay.

    1. BoHo was really good when it first opened but, of late boards say it's gone down hill a bit - I'd still give it a try. It's right down the street : http://www.bohorestaurant.com. There's also Loteria Grill www.loteriagrill.com. I thought it was just ok but, hounds around here seem to like it much: www.loteriagrill.com Food was good but, didn't like the attitudes and ambiance..NOISY!! There's plenty of other places and I'm sure more will chime in. Happy eating!! If you have a car, I would drive east on Hollywood Blvd about 10 minutes. You'll hit Little Armenia and Thai Town - great eateries there.

        1. I would agree with the Loteria recommendation, though I've not found the service attitude-y at all. Probably the best food, closest to you. It can get loud-ish, i guess, but i tend to go on the early side when it's not so busy, which may help attitude and noise avoidance goals.

Closer to the Pantages area is the Hungry Cat http://www.thehungrycat.com/hollywood... on Vine bet Sunset and Hollywood (unfortunately sandwiched like a middle and forgotten child between borders and bed bath and beyond). The burger is other wordly. Many other highlights, too, i just always come back to the burger there. They get busy, so go early or make a reservation.
