Strawberry paste

Hi All,

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some strawberry paste in Toronto? I've checked major grocery stores and baking supply stores like McCall's to no avail. Please help.

I've never seen strawberry paste before but I think it might be an Asian ingredient. Have you tried Chinatown or T&T?

Someone recommended Chinatown and T&T to me before but I couldn't find it there. I did finally find some on this bakery suppliers website but to my dismay it's $100 for 1.5kg (probably b/c it's from Italy). I am hoping I could get something similar for a lot cheaper in a local store b/c it doesn't make much sense to pay that much for stuff made in Italy when we have such great strawberries locally.

If you found it on an Italian website, maybe you could find it in one of the little grocery stores in little Italy?
It also sounds like something you could find in a store that specializes in French products, but when I lived in Toronto those were equally dificult to locate.
