<content>Is there anywhere in the city to get a not-grade F version of fast food favourites like a Big Mac, Whopper, McChicken etc?

<content>I'm looking for a place that makes their own version of a sandwich such as a Big Mac...i.e. sesame seed bun, thousand island special sauce, shredded lettuce etc. It is very specific, not just a burger.

I think this is a very common practice ("our version of a whopper") and I'm sure there must be at least one place in New York that does this, not sure why everyone is being so dismissive.

I like the taste of a big macs but don't want to eat gross meat.</content>

<content>No self-respecting NYC restaurant models their burger after a "Big Mac, Whopper, McChicken etc".

So, no, it's actually not a "very common practice" at all.

Bizarre.

<content>I'd be very happy to taste a gourmet version of a BM!
And actually, Top Chef finalist Stefan Richter has exactly that on his menu at his new restaurant in Santa Monica - it's called "tastes like a big mac" !!!!!!
