jalapeno gnocchi

I recently ate at Twist in Chicago where they served Jalapeno Gnocchi, one of the best things I ever ate - perfectly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth gnocchi. I NEED the recipe. Help!

  1. That sounds really amazing - was there a sauce served on it? I would make a traditional gnocchi and add a pureed jalapeno or two that have been fire roasted, skinned and seeded.

It was served with a roasted red pepper sauce. The gnocchi was stuffed with a jalapeno puree, I believe. It sounds as though you are on the right track. I would guess that the gnocchi "dough" was rolled flat: then covered with the puree and formed into a traditional gnocchi shape and cooked.

    2. Hey jcbroder--I had the same thing several years ago and couldn't think about anything else for a while. Don't know what made me think of it again tonight, but I was wondering if you've had any luck recreating this dish.

I haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know when I do.

      2. I had the exact same dish! I have never been able to think of any other gnocchi since I had it a LONGGGG time ago. I had mine at Pasta Pallazo though, not sure if they have the same owners or not. But i guess both of these places sell jalapeno gnocchi with roasted red pepper sauce. Ive eaten cuisine all over the world and worked for many accredited chefs in the area and they hands down have the best gnocchi i have ever eaten in my life. EVER.
