Do all restaurants use Old Bay for crab?? Ocean City, Md. and Delaware
Would love to order/eat crab, but each place we've gone to...it's too spicy for us. They all seem to use Old Bay Seasoning.
Can anyone recommend a place where you can get crab simply cooked...maybe some butter to dip...but no spices???
Thanks!

Ocean City, MD! Great place to eat crab. I live in Wilmington and travel to OC few imes out of the year since my parents have a condo down there, so I might be able to help you.
Philips Crab House is the first thing that comes to mind. 144th street has the best Philips in OC (at least my family and I think so). There is another one around 40th street i think.
Philips is a buffet/dine in but if you want crabs get the buffet. Its about 30 bucks a person, but if you plan to eat some crabs you'll get your dollars worth very quickly since crab can be quite expensive. The crabs served there are King Snow Crab legs. They are steamed and have nothing on them. You can get some butter and crack em open and enjoy.
I can't vouch for the Blue Crabs because I don't personally eat Blue Crab unless its in the Blue Crab Soup. I think those might be served with Old Bay, but if you ask the guy for some crabs without Old Bay on them I'm sure he'll comply (you are paying 30 bucks a person, so they'll make their customers happy).
Other than Phillips? Basically any other seafood buffet will have em, Embers, Bonfire, Crab shacks, I think Bahama Mamas (Neon Yellow and Orange Building) might have Snow Crab, but I think their claim to fame is Blue Crab.
But like I said since Crab is so expensive go to a buffet like Phillips on 144th or ask for the Old Bay to not be added.
Hope this helps.
