Need a GREAT restaurant within walking distance of Sloan Kettering...

I am taking my sister and brother-in-law out for a much needed night of great food. I will be meeting them at Sloan Kettering at 1275 York Avenue between 67th and 68th streets. Can you recommend a restaurant within walking distance - open to food type and not too concerned about budget.

I also recommend Felice - 64th and 1st. Also Il Vaggabondo on 62nd between 1st and 2nd. I just realized this is an old post - where did you end up going and how was it?

I highly recommend Chola on East 58th between Second and Third for fantastic Indian food. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I've never had a bad meal. If you're going to be spending time around MSKCC and need a quick bite, you can get a very good slice at the pizza place on First between 66th and 67th. Unfortunately, chemo brain prevents me from remembering the name--but you can't miss it.;)

If you feel like dim sum...Cafe Evergreen on 1st between 69 and 70th is pretty reliable. They're main dishes are a cut above average too. Good wine.

Best in the area bar none is Sushi Seki on 1st ave and 62nd. Get the omakase.

Maya is an upscale Mexican and is mostly awesome but sometimes it's just ok and on those off nights doesn't justify the prices. 1st ave and 64th.

Down the block from Maya you'll find Tori Shin which might be the best yakitori in the city.

Dashkin II on 1st and 63rd is a cheap and unpretentious but very good Indian.

I've never been but nino's on 1st and 73rd is supposed to be a good Italian place with an old vibe (ie, piano player).

Was in the same area Tuesday and ended up at Swifty's on Lex. A bit of a hike but good food, relaxed atmosphere and for my hospital frazzled friend a perfect meal.

I was told that Sette Mezzo was being renovated, so it might be worth checking. Also, I've been told that its sister restaurant, Vico, is now accepting credit cards, so Sette Mezzo might as well.
