Great Al Pastor at Chavez Market in Sunnyvale

Had to get a smog test today so used it as an excuse to actually get lunch away from my boring corporate cafeteria. Had a Al Pastor quesadilla at Chaves Market on Fair Oaks in Sunnyvale. The meat was delicious and the real thing--vertical spit right there in front.

What other qood taquerias are around there?

Are you sure you didn't have pork adobo?

Chavez calls it al pastor; I like the carnitas and tongue better.

ROTFL! I thought of Hank the other day as I gazed appreciatively at the spit of al pastor at TSJ on my way out of town. Speaking of which, I'm apparently not the only Angeleno who's been stopping at TSJ for a burrito to take on the plane home. They've got a whole system with double foil and plastic bag.

I was always a fan of Tres Potrillos, right down the road from Chavez.
