Seoul on Wheels is back

  • 6

The truck is back and running, but now in the East Bay. Sounds like she'll be camping out in front of Pixar in Emeryville, up the road from Rudy's Can't Fail.

Today, there was no tofu option, but the beef and pork bowls were yummy.

    1. Yay! I love her lunch boxes, although Emeryville is a bit far to go for lunch (I now work in Santa Clara).

She's also supposed to be participating in the Eat Real Festival August 29-30, 2009 for those who can't make it to the East Bay except on weekends.

      1. Sounds good. Has anyone tried the Korean tacos?

        1. I tried them twice last year in the city and the food was pretty underwhelming. The meat was tough and overcooked and the rice crunchy and disgusting.

I ate twice from the truck in 2007 when I was in San Francisco for meetings. Enjoyed it both times and had nothing like your experience. I guess I'll find out tomorrow how it is now.

Tried these at the Eat Real Festival today, and while I enjoyed the tacos more than you did, I was a bit underwhelmed too. The meat was pretty tasty--the chicken taco was actually surprisingly flavorful and juicy--but they really need to do something about the tortillas. They were dry, somewhat stale-tasting, and broke apart as I was eating my taco. The texture was like something that had been reheated in the microwave the next day rather than freshly prepared.

Might have been something to do with them trying to keep up with the crazy number of orders they were getting, and I know my chicken taco was sitting there for a while as we were waiting for our pork taco to come out.
