From the website, a couple of us are considering going. Anyone been? Worth the trip or should we stick with a Saturday? Since Slow Food is a sponsor, I am thinking it might be better.

On Thursday, August 20th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Eastern Market is hosting the Select Michigan Farmers Market in Shed 2.

The Select Michigan Farmers Market at Eastern Market is the second (and only one in the Detroit area) in a series of special markets planned this summer to promote locally grown and processed food, agriculture products, and Michigan's farmers markets operating throughout the season. This market is sponsored by the Michigan Department of Agriculture, Michigan Food & Farming Systems, Slow Food Detroit, and Eastern Market Corporation with funding from a USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant, and additional support from the Michigan Farmers Market Association.

Shed 2 will be filled with many of your favorite Saturday vendors plus a large assortment of new produce and specialty food vendors. Grab the kids, take a couple of hours off work, or schedule an extra long lunch and join us in Shed 2 for this very special Market.
