Need help in choosing a restaurant for dinner. Have been to Le Chien Noir numerous times in the past and I would like to try a different restaurant. I would try for Luke's but have read reviews that the service is bad and very slow. I like the menu at Aroma Wine Bar and wonder if anyone has gone there and if it is recommended.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
My wife and I ate dinner at Chez Piggy a few days ago. We had eaten there a number of times over the years, and had enjoyed it, but not so this time.
We started off by sharing the Vietnamese spring rolls appetizer. They looked greasy, but fortunately were not. The filling had potential, but could have used some salt. The dipping sauce had a spicy hot kick to it, not something I normally like, but had to have to give the rolls some flavour.
My wife had a bowl of their soup of the day (mushroom and potato); said it was meh. I had their main course smoked haddock (I think) chowder. The soup arrived with a skin on it ! It had a few mussels, three shrimps that were peeled but not deveined, some smoked fish and some fresh fish, none of which had much taste (including the broth). Again, the fish could have used a dose of salt.
A disappointing experience.
