Xi'an Ming Chi's Flushing Mall branch now open.

I had read somewhere that Liang Pi's Xi'an Ming Chi was about to open a branch in The Flushing Mall and I went by today to check it out. It is indeed open, with cooking chores handled by the tall woman with the big smile who was LP's ace sous chef at 41-28 Main. According to LP, who still holds down the fort at 41-28, it opened on the 11th.

[Edited to add: It even has a website now! http://www.wizfusion.com/xian/ ]

don't forget the "lamb face" salad; it's a heavy rich one but I think will pair very nicely with an order of liang pi to cut the heaviness.

Chandavkl, you're pretty international yourself! And both you and Xiao Yang are in good company with Limster, who has reviewed probably every other restaurant in the world...

Xiao Yang (or anyone else), I hadn't heard of Xi'an Ming Chi before this (though evidently they've gotten a lot of press, based on the reviews they posted on their website). I'd love to know more. What do you like there?

I think this is merely the place often referred to as the Xian restaurant in Golden Mall. Xiao Yang is truly international--I thought he was still vacationing in China but it seems that he bypassed SF and headed to Queens. Me, I just cover the lower 48 and Vancouver.

Ok, I think this is probably the place where I've gotten Chinese hamburgers in the past. I didn't make that connection immediately, but I just noticed that the restaurant's webpage links to Brian S's Chowhound review of the place, too. So... circular. :)

Yep, that's it. All the noodle dishes are good, but the cold noodles (the eponymous "liang pi") are especially refreshing in this weather.
