Your favorite Filipino cookbook
Hello, fellow Pinoys!
I have one Filipino cookbook. It's called "Galing Galing" and is not very specific about instructions. ("Cook the chicken. Add to vegetables and serve with rice.")
There are several Filipino cookbooks available, and I want to know which one(s) YOU use!Salamat po!

Reynaldo Alejandro's "The Philippine Cookbook" is what I brought with me to college. The book is perfect for the most classic recipes (i.e. adobo, pancit, morcon, afritada) and is straightforward enough that a novice college student had no troubles with the recipes. If you want to take a step up, Nora Daza has authored some of the more authoritative cookbooks for the native community without resorting to the substitutions of the ex-pat community. Her books, however, can be somewhat confusing to someone without a Filipino background as she omits steps that would come naturally to a Filipino cook and writes in Taglish. To my tastebuds, I usually need to double the amount of garlic she uses, as well.
