Searching for West African Beer in Pennsylvania

Hey all. I am participating in a West African themed dinner with a number of Peace Corps Volunteers (Benin) in a few weeks. In hopes of bringing some nostalgia to the gathering, I am searching for a distributor or bottle shop in central or eastern PA that sells beer from that region. La Beninoise, Flag, Star or Biere Niger would all work. Any suggestions?

All help (even if it's just pointing me to a distributor with an excellent international selection) is greatly appreciated. I am willing to travel to Maryland and/or DC as well.

I recall Kunda Beverage in King of Prussia having a wide variety of beer. That was years ago, but it may be worth a call.

I haven't seen any of the specific beers you listed but I did find "Skol" over at the Total Wine in Cherry Hill NJ. They may have others as well. Skol was one of the few beers we PCV's could get our hands on in Guinea. You could also check for La Gazelle (Senegal), or Castle, (Mali). Although these all may be much worse than I remember and I do remember them as being pretty bad beers. But after 2 months at site a cool skol usually fit the bill..

First check with Bella Vista. If not, definitely look into the Beer Yard out in Wayne, PA. Just picked up some rare beers this past weekend (i.e. Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout - YUM). I was impressed by their selection, however, be prepared to spend $$$.

I've heard good things about Shangy's in Emmaus(?) PA. Never made the trip personally though.

Bella Vista Beer Distributors in Philadelphia (11th and Catherine or thereabouts) has an outstanding selection of beer. Not sure about the beers you have requested, but they have isles and isles and the beer is arranged by country! They don't seem to have their own web site though.

In Washington DC there is place called the Brickskeller that has a bottle list many pages long. They have about 10 Ethiopian beers and one Kenyan beer. I don't know if these will work for you but maybe this place could help you find exactly what you are looking for.
