Does anyone have any good recommendations for quaint pubs around or near Cirencester, Gloucester area. We have a week away at the waterpark hotel and was looking for some nice places for dinner.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. We had a very good meal at the Churchill Arms in Paxton, but that was several years ago, so I hesitate to recommend it because I'm not up-to-date with how it is now. I do see that it's recommended on a garden guide webpage, along with the following: Horse & Groom, Bourton-on-the-Hill, Fox & Hounds, Great Wolford , and the Kings Head, Chipping Campden. The Churchill is actually a B&B plus pub.

Chippen Camden is one of the places we're likely to visit as I've heard of its beautiful old styled buildings. So will probably drop in on the Kings Head.
Thank you Zuriga for your advice.

Well, it was meager help but you're welcome. One of my favorite towns in that area is Castle Combe.. if you haven't been there, it's worth a stop, but I can't remember there being too many food choices right there.

Thanks for the tip! Will add their post codes to the sat nav!

      2. Try The Woolpack in Slad, near Painswick. In Cheltenham The Beehive is a gastropub in an area called The Suffolks. Not far from Chipping Camden is The Fleece Inn which is owned by The National Trust - think it's in Bretforton. I haven't eaten at The Fleece since it has reopened but the other two have good food.
