Fish and chips in Boulder??
Hi Hounds,
Hubby and I are craving some good fish and chips- I've seen them on the menu at many restaurants in Boulder, but does anyone have suggestions on their favorite place to get it?
TIA! Looking forward to hearing your recs!

The Rocky Flats bar (that sketchy looking little shack on highway 93 as you leave Boulder heading south) has a great Friday night fish fry. I brought a friend from Wisconsin, and she swore this was the real thing. Not gourmet, but tasty and definitely worth it for the atmosphere alone.

The Scotch Corner has my favorite fish & chips in town. Their Scotch Egg is pretty darn good, too. A close second for me is the Hungry Toad.

On Tuesday night, the Southern Sun has fish and chips. And the Walnut Brewery has interesting fish and chips, made with smoked salmon.

Conor O'Neill's, because they're really cheap during happy hour (till 7 p.m.) and part of their Mon and Tues night specials. It's on 13th Street between Pearl and Walnut.

re: ClaireWalter
We tried Conor O'Neils- they no longer offer the FnC for happy hour but on mondays you can get it for 7.99 with a free beer. We split the 11.99 portion which was 3 deck size pieces of fish plus mediocre potato logs. This came with coleslaw which was pretty bland.
Not too impressed with the fish so the search for a decent version continues....-

LiveLoveEat 34 - Sorry that Conor O'Neil's disappointed, pricewise and taste-wise. When we were there, they were still pretty good. Ironically, I just unearthed a happy hour menu from Brasserie Ten Ten (1010 Walnut). I was ready to search down the thread to add a post, but because of your comment, it was up near the top. I'd quite forgotten that they have/had fish 'n chips Their version is/was beer-battered tilapia, remoulade sauce (no Sysco-delivered tartar sauce here), fries and cole slaw. It is/was $6. Maybe worth a try?

Drive down to GB Fish and Chips on Broadway in Denver and get the cod. Hot, fresh, fantastic.
