La Limena in Rockville

Was looking for good Cuban/Peruvian without having to travel to Burtonsville (to Cuba de Ayer) and happened upon La Limena on Rockville Pike. The place is spotless, the wait staff very pleasant and the food wonderful. For appetizers we had empenadas and papa rellenos, both as good as we've had. For main courses we had pollo saltado, cuban sandwich and pollo al la brasa. All outstanding. If in the area and having a yen for cuban or peruvian, this is definitely worth a stop.

I'll second the recommendation, although I don't think their pollo a la brasa is the best in the area. It's good but not great.

Their ceviche is outstanding and I enjoy the homemade chicha.

My current favorite is "Pollo Brasero" in a strip mall near Plaza del Mercado - close to the intersection of Layhill and Bel Pre Roads - Layhill, MD.

I'm also a fan of "Don Pollo" in Twinbrook, MD - very good too. They have a place on Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, but I haven't tried it yet.
