Fairway & Garden of Eden, for starters. Last time I noticed, G of E had lox in addition to several smoked salmons. Didn't notice if Fairway has lox but they certainly have a very good assortment of sm. salmon. Surprisingly, it was quite expertly sliced at G of E (expert slicing is no surprise at Fairway).

Garden of Eden - Montague St in BK Heights - slices lox by hand, and they'll slice thinly for you if you request. I don't think the quality is as good as R&D but they also do sell whole whitefish and (at least for me) being only 2 blocks away is more convenient than the LES.

Two spots in Park Slope: Blue Apron Foods on Union St between 7th and 8th Ave and Grab on 7th Ave between 14th and 15th streets. Expert slicers at both establishments (Jay or Ted at BA or Laura at Grab) and about 3-4 different kinds of smoked salmon to choose from.

There have to be more places in Midwood/Kings Hway area than in downtown Brooklyn. for example the Pomegranate supermarkete on CIA at ave M I think has a big appetizing counter.

If by "lox" you mean Smoked Salmon, FAIRWAY has a good selection, and you can taste before buying. They also have Gravlax. They will slice paper thin if requested. Serves with a homemade Mustard Sauce, it makes a refreshing starter or Summer salad

Ditto for Garden of Eden, but I don't think they sell as much as FAIRWAY , so not as fresh.
