BERGEN COUNTY NJ PARTY?!!?!!?!!?!!?!!

Hey... I'm looking for a nice place to hold my Engagement Party... Was wondering if anyone knew a place that fits this criteria...

Classic Romantic Formal/Casual atmosphere
Dinner/ lunch/ brunch
sit down/ buffet
about 75 people
private room
do not want to spend more then $30-$35 a head

I'm looking to have it at the end of Oct this year and really have no idea where to start.

Any suggestion will be helpful.

Thanks
Col

    1. Gelone's Italian restaurant in Lyndhurst might fit the bill...the food's great, it's BYOB, and they have a separate room

          The obvious first choice is to think of an Italian restaurant to suit your needs, but consider Madeleine's Petit Paris in Northvale for something different.

          • I had friends who liked Nicolas in Totowa, formally Hawthorne, They had a rehaersal dinner and said it was good and inexpensive. Give them a try. They are in a brand new space so it should be nice.

              1. If anyone is interested in what a Ligurian (It's up north) menu looks like, here is one:

                (Great place, if you're ever in the area

                )

                P.S. Using italian words in the titles of the dishes on a menu doesn't add anything to the authenticity or quality of the dish. As a matter of fact, I get deeply suspicious of restaurants that do that. Usually it's just a "come-on".

                    What, no pesto?

                        Re: your PS....now we can add suspicious to the description to the restaurants you have recommended in the past.....the same places that use Northern Italian to describe themselves.

                        • this is getting WAY TOO heady...i suggest we all just get our collective panties out of a bunch.

                            1. Also in Lyndhurst is Il Cafone, which has added a party room.
