Coming soon to my area. Any thoughts, comments, etc.? Worth a try?
Good bets, what to avoid, etc.
Are they a good value?
Because I don't have one locally, I've only been once. I thought it was very good albeit a bit pricey for a burger joint. I had a bacon cheeseburger(I think it was the 1/2 pound) with guacamole. The beef was especially flavorful, and I recall thinking the guac actually detracted from the burger. My wife and I split the combination onion rings(excellent) and fries(good) basket, and it was still too much to finish. Cheeburger Cheeburger is a place I'd hit occasionally(maybe once or twice a month) if I had one in my area.
I found that it was a burger that couldn't stand on it's own, that it needed all the other stuff on it to make it taste better. They won't make it med. rare. Just wasn't worth it.
I went once and was quite happy with my burger. There's none of the following chains in my area so I tried them all when visiting the in laws.
5 Guys was clearly the best. It's a diner style burger. Done right on a flat top.
Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger was a very solid second. A good burger and I didn't think too expensive.
Red Robin was a distant third. Absolutely nothing special IMHO.
I like the toppings variety at Cheeburger Cheeburger. It's not a great value, nearly $10 for one adult, but it's decent. The variety of shakes and malts is also a plus.
