I have a friend trying to track this down. She's found Abita at a few places around town but can't find the Amber which is her favorite. She asked me but I'm not a beer drinker so had no idea what to suggest beyond the usual suspects.

Any ideas on places that might have or or might order it for her? She'd also like to find the Abita Strawberry and Pecan, though she thinks the season might be over for it(She has found the raspberry).

Myself I wouldn't mind trying the satsuma if anyone has seen that....

Thanks!

I moved here from nola and abita was my beer. I have found abita at world market before. Recently, I have had great luck at the store Total Wine and Spirits. They usually carry the resurection ale, turbodog and the raspberry beer. I have also purchased the strawberry ale there, but that is a seasonal brew. They may order the amber for you.
I don't even try to get abita at bars anymore. the ones I did find were old.
good luck

My first bet is going to be Sun Devil Liquors on Country Club south of University. They have seemingly everything. They do have a sister location, Tops Liquors, on University west of Mill. The selection isn't as big as Sun Devil, but still pretty impressive.

Oddly enough, it seems that the Amber, which seems to be their flagship beer, isn't carried much, even at places that carry other Abita varieties. You'll easily find Abita at Bevmo, Sun Devil, Topps, Sunflower, AJs, Papago, Whole Foods....if you ask the folks at these places I'm sure they can get it for you or at least tell you why they aren't carrying it. Try giving Sun Devil a call as your first try (although I can confirm that they don't have the Amber right now as I was there on Friday and looked).

The Pecan is a fall seasonal, I believe, so that might show up in the next couple of months, and the Strawberry is their summer seasonal, so it may have run its course, although I *think* I saw it at AJs fairly recently.

Abita Amber has not been sold in Arizona for a couple of years, it has only been available in the Party Pack variety twelve pack. That will change shortly, as it will now be sold in the state again. Somebody mentioned the Strawberry and Pecan. Strawberry is a spring seasonal and the Pecan is in the fall, so it will be here shortly.
