Love tiny, charming and friendly Frankie's on Clinton St. Can fill up cause it's small, but it's great. Also like Little Giant on Orchard Street. Small place with surprising touches. You can make reservations here, so be sure to call.

So many places in that area, it's hard without a specific cuisine request. Here's a list that spans a whole bunch: Macondo (Latin American), Alias (New American), Kampuchea (Cambodian), Kuma Inn (Asian Tapas), Double Crown (too $$? English/Asian), Mermaid Inn (seafood), Redhead (Gastropub)

I like Frankie's Spuntino, which niia mentions, but you're also practically right in Chinatown, which opens up a bunch of other possibilities for you. That said, where did you end up going, and how was it?
