L'Académie - Crescent

I just got back from dinner at l'Académie on Crescent. What a fabulous evening! From the moment we arrived to the time we left, we felt well taken care of.

The service was praiseworthy. Our waitress, Marie-Michelle, was fantastic. She was courteous helpful, and swift. Any and all requests were handled with a smile. We were a group of thirteen, and she, as well as another waitress and waiter, made sure our food was served as ordered, and in a timely manner.

Hats off to the chef as well. From mussles & fries to Fettuccini Fruta di Mare, from calamari to vitello, everyone enjoyed their meal.

We work just down the road, so I know we will be back. Good food, great service, nice decor and a BYOB... what more could one want? Oh, the portions are generous and the prices very reasonable.

  1. Are we talking about the same Académie that has outlets on St-Denis, in Brossard, Laval, QC and Anjou? The same Académie that serves uninspired food in larger than life portions in a very loud atmosphere?

      It is indeed the same L'Académie. Tous les goûts sont dans la nature.

        The same, although I have never been to any of them. Portions were generous, though not American/larger than life. We were seated upstairs, not loud at all... our group enjoyed conversations we could even hear a few seats down. As for the food, I never said it was creative, just plain old tasty and to everyone's liking. Thirteen meals and not one complaint, I'd say it was a good night - the gang at l'Académie did quite nicely.

          It's better than the one on the St. Denis. It's BYOB, and the prices are reasonable. Despite the fact that it isn't the culinary mecca of Montreal, it's perfectly fine for what it is.

        2. Only thing I like at l'Academie is their moules frites(pretty hard to completely screw up).
