Cafe K - Unacceptable Experience

Extremely disappointing experience at Cafe K on 48th Street in Manhattan this afternoon.

One of the large chalkboard menus lists about ten fish dishes and at the base says "served with two side dishes of your choice."

My friend asks for the "fish burger" and is told that it only comes with one side and that the statement "is a mistake."

Funny. It is explicitly written on the menu that it comes with two sides; they should have honored it.

Moving on...

He's a good sport and decides to order it anyway - hungry guy that he is - and is told, "sorry, it isn't $12.95 it's $14.95". Yet the menu clearly states that it is $12.95.

Beyond telling us these "facts" - you know, the ones unbeknownst to the customer - in a rude way, Cafe K should consider learning best business practices as opposed to subscribing to the worst.

Well done Cafe K.

[PS: we caught the manager on the way out who was busy speaking into his bluetooth earpiece in Hebrew. We asked him about the sides and the price, he looked at us, told us what we had just heard from the other employee, and proceeded to walk away from us and continue chatting on the phone]
