Best lobster in Houston

I have a serious craving for a delicious lobster dinner. Wishing I was on a tropical island where I could eat it fresh off the boat! Who has the best lobster in town?

I recently moved to Houston, so I'm still learning my way around the restaurant scene.

This thread about Lobster is a couple years old, but it might help you:

You could also go to B4-U-Eat.com and look up reviews for these places on there. Welcome to Houston!

Christen, if you want lobster fresh off the boat, have you considered cooking it yourself? Most of the larger supermarkets in the area have tanks of live lobsters for you to take home and boil yourself.

If you're looking for someone to do all the work for you (and I can't say as I blame you!) I'd reccomend Oceaniare on Westheimer near the Galleria, or McCormick & Schmick in Uptown Park. If I knew where you lived, or how far you wanted to drive, I could give you more suggestions.

And many of the larger supermarkets will steam them for you. You pick out one, point at it, they grab it and steam it and you take it home.

        Pretty easy.

I'm just in from Pesce (kirby/alabama),, they had a 3lb'er on special tonight (I went with the salmon special). You might also try Trulucks on Westheimer.. Though the specials here are giant crab (legs),,, lobster is a main staple as well. Go on a Wed when the wine list is 1/2 price!

I would go for the Palm, pretty much what they are known for, these giant massive lobsters. And Trulucks does not have crab legs. They are known for their stone crab. I think stone crabs are better than lobster. Dense sweet meat, just the claw and its cracked, served withdrawn butter or a delicious mustard sauce.

        Palm usually have excellent lobsters.

They currently have a special on a lobster dinner for two - a 4lb Nova Scotia lobster with a couple of salads and a side for ninety bucks.

A couple of years back I also had a nice Australian cold water lobster tail at Vic and Anthony's. Not cheap though.

We had Houton Rest. Week lobster tail at Pappas Steakhouse yesterday. Perfect in both taste and texture.
