Any way to overnight mail order a sandwich from Verti Marte?

Crazy idea, but if you've had the sandwich you'd understand. I'd love to overnight an All That Jazz to a friend in Chicago for his birthday in a couple weeks. Unfortunately, I'm in New York. Anyone know of any services in NO that do this sort of thing or if the Verti Marte itself might be willing, for a price?

My Dad just brought me one home yesterday and it survived the 12 hour trip (airport delays) unrefrigerated. (I'm still licking the Wow sauce off my fingers - what's in that stuff?!?!) I'm thinking a little blue ice in the package to Chicago would be a good idea.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

FIRST THING to do is call Verti Marte and see if they'll do it for you.

A "service" is going to cost you much more than just shipping.

Ideally, of course, you'd have a friend in town who could buy, pack, and FedEx the sandwich to Chicago.

Failing that, maybe a so-called "errand" or "concierge" service could help. Googling "concierge service new orleans" yields listings like this:

I don't know this company, and can't vouch for it.

As a matter of interest, you also might want to phone Central Grocery to find out how they pack their muffulettas for shipping. Do they use ice-packs or dry ice?

      Good luck with your project!

I just realized that I meant to post this on the New Orleans board but apparently did not. Oops!

Ah yes - a friend in New Orleans would be a valuable thing indeed! In lieu of that the concierge service looks promising - thank you so much!

And yeah, I always bring a muffuletta-size cooler to New Orleans with room for two.
