NE Pizza Void? Snap Closed (MSP)
It looks like Snap! in NE Minneapolis is closed for good. That leaves me with no close "I didn't cook, let's get a pizza" option right? Snap was pretty decent and they had hot hoagies and salads. It was good, and close. Oh! They had chocolate peanut butter ice cream with the real peanut butter chunks!!! Now what do I do?

Yeah, this is bad stuff. The owners were a family of Caribbean descent, I believe. Nice folks trying to make it go. I tried to give them as much business as I could, and to spread the word. They seemed to be doing a decent amount of business whenever I was in, but I guess it wasn't enough.
Snap! was originally opened by the owners of Pop! But they didn't keep it very long. Never heard why.
In the meantime, we sure do need a pizza place in that spot. There really aren't any other local options, as princebaal points out.

How about the original Broadway Pizza location? That is traditional MN pizza and a good place to have a beer. There is the Afghan pizza place too, (Crescent Moon) but of course that is different. It still seems sort of like a regular pizza to me, though - more so than you would think. I guess it sort of depends on what end of Northeast you are.
There has to be something up Central, too - you would think.

re: Jitterbug
Broadway is excellent! Unfortunately my wife HATES it, (something about the sauce), so I don't get to go there very often. And there really is nothing up central, at least that isn't a chain or comes from a gas station. Tasty Pizza is ok, but too far away. Somebody need to get back in the Snap location and start making some good pizza!

I take it this means you aren't a fan of, or are somehow unaware of, Punch and Pizza Nea?
They should fill your void, although neither is the traditional MN pizza joint.

re: princebaal
Amen...every time the word Pizza comes up someone is trying to shove Punch and Nea down our throats. Yes everyone in the state of Minnesota is aware of these overpriced underwhelming pies. IMO they are nothing more than a piece of dough which is far too crispy with a teaspoon of sauce(could care less if it's San Marzano) and a scant amount of Buffalo Mozzarella( I don't care if Mario Batalli himself hand pulled it). I prefer Red's Savoy, Grandpa Tony's and Michaels thank you very much.

Perfectly understandable. Punch/Pizza Nea are not my first choice either. Heck, I'll take a place like Pizza Man or Ronnally's over them any day.
I'm not completely familiar with the northern reaches of Nordeast, but there really aren't a lot of pizza places up there, now that I think about it.
