Birthday party -- western burbs

lsmutko Aug 12, 2009 10:20 AM

A friend is trying to plan his wife's 40th birthday party and is clueless. I am too, but thought someone here might have suggestions for a private room in a restaurant or an interesting space that would accommodate up to 40? They live in Malvern and don't want to have to hump into the city.

Thanks for the help!

It depends what you are looking for. What kind of food would you like and how much are you willing to spend per person? I might be able to suggest a few places, but it depends what you are interested in.

Not sure of your budget or ideal space, however Birchrunville Cafe does private parties (only mid-week and not sure of capacity). Additional Parc Bistro (in Skippack) has two areas to hold private parties, and I know they can accomodate your size.

Check out Evviva on Montgomery Avenue. We have had several small parties there - 40 people is a good number for them - and been very pleased.
Food is very good, they supply the flowers and have a parking lot. Great people to work with, and the cost is about half of what it would be at a hotel or top restaurant.
I don't think they have any restaurant there now at all; it is just for catering parties.'They have a liquor license (good bar) but let's you bring in wine, if you prefer.
