I'm the same as fmed - haven't been in a long while, but all my experiences there have been good. Except for the sommelier - we were disappointed with his suggestions. Food is great though.

I dined at Boneta in mid to late May and it was really good. The service was excellent and the food was good (not great but good). I had the poutine, halibut, and rum raisin ice cream for dessert. The poutine was the only weak point. I have heard that the gnocchi is really good. The drinks were fabulous.

I live about 50 steps away from Boneta. Maybe less. But I never try it. Probably never will. I'm sure they are a great restaurant. They have won so many awards. And they are proud to brag about them:) Anyway, they are just not my cup of tea. Too pretentious, I guess. I like my food simple, down to earth, cheap but good eats:)

I haven't been in ages. It's good. The chef fulfills your criteria, IMO.
