Fire at Monte Alban Shopping Center on Santa Monica Blvd WLA

I woke up around 5 this am to a horrible burning smell coming into the apt.. shortly afterwards the sirens wailed..the fire I heard started in the Persian restaurant next to Monte Alban and spreaded..not sure what damage was done to any of the places in the center but it been pretty busy there all day..all the places were close...I know that Monte Alban has a big fan base on chowhound so I thought I give you the heads up..

      Yes, I read in Eater LA that Monte Alban suffered severe damage, but luckily no one was hurt. What a shame.
