Possible to find boiled Crawfish at end of August?

My husband is crazy about crawfish and is one thing he was really looking forward to during our visit to New Orleans later this month. Does anyone know where we can still find boiled crawfish since they are now out of season?

  1. If you don't mind getting cook boil crawfish shipped to your home, try looking at LA or call 1-888-522-7292. Louisiana crawfish company sells boil cook crawfish, quick frozen just thaw and reheat. I just order 20lbs of cook boil crawfish, LA crawfish ships over night FedEX to your work or home.

You should check out Perino's Seafood in Marrerro.(Just across the river) They have an awesome selection of fresh/live seafood at great prices that you can pack in their travel boxes to take home. They also offer boiled shrimp and crawfish by the pound. You can reach them at 504-347-5410.

      2. Deanie's Seafood in the qtr might still have them and you might want to try the Galley in Old Metairie. The issue is that since crawfish are out of season, what you find is that the shell is very hard and they are difficult to eat. Plus, the meat is not as tender. Just a few weeks ago, Harbor seafood had them too which is out by the airport in Kenner.

They're $2.99/lb at Harbor. But this time of year, be sure to get some shrimp too. They'll be much better than the crawfish.

          Edit: That's 2.99/lb boiled.
