Best 'seasonal menu' or just good eats in Santa Monica?

I am looking for suggestions on a good place for a casual but GOOD meal here in Santa Monica (or anywhere Westside) without breaking the bank. I have been thinking about Jiraffe as well as Josies, because of use of local seasonal menus, so something along those lines. Want to stay 'casual', bistro type setting, rustic. I don't know,, suggestions? I have been craving a nice preparation of fois. Anything new pop up in the area that would fit the bill? I don't keep up but know good food. Craftbar has been suggested but is not right for this particular night. Thanks

Josie isn't particularly casual or rustic (the dining room has a more formal feel, although I've seen people dine hear wearing VERY casual clothes), but you may be interested in their Wednesday farmer's market-driven prix-fixe. Every wed she prepares a menu based on what she finds at the farmer's market that day. I think it is $40 for 3 courses (smaller portions than the regular menu).

        Fig in the Fairmont

        Rustic Canyon on Wilshire

Jiraffe & Josie's are both good spots as well.
