Asheboro Zoo to Greensboro Waterpark

I'm getting off this Stinkin Island and headed Inland to get away from this Sea of Tourists and where does an Island Boy find some comfort food around Asheboro?Just good Home Cookin Comfort Food is all I seek ,BBQ would be a start.Wherever the Locals eat I want to know.
And does Anybody know or have been to Wet and Wild Waterpark in Greensboro? Opinions on Motels and places to eat would be appreciated also.Thanks.

Lexington's only about a half hour out of your way. You might consider going there for barbecue.

We also like Sir Pizza, a little farther west on 64, or your right. Do NOT go to any other Sir Pizza. Some are awful.

in the immediate vicinity of water park nothing nada. You will be near high point rd - lots of hotels, lots of chains. For good food try Stameys - though not one of my favorite Q places or sample some vietnamese home cooking. Others may be able to enlighten you about southern food in the area
