Looking for a place for a work-related party, preferably not too far from downtown (but most people have cars so not super-important) and not too pricy. It will probably be on a weeknight, fairly early. It would be nice if there was a place that could accommodate the group in a separate room (or terrasse, weather permitting). I have a few possibilities in mind that I've been to with large groups and thought were OK but it's been a while so I'd welcome any other opinions or different suggestions. Thinking of: Jardin de Panos, La Campagnola (in Lasalle), Parthenon (on VanHorne), Primi Piatti, Napoletana...what about Los Clasicos for a group (not BYOW, though)? Are there any good Portuguese grill places that would fit the bill? Not necessarily looking for the gourmet-est place in town, but decent food would be nice.

Prato (coal oven-fired pizza) and La Carreta (Salvadoran specialties) both have private rooms in the back and are casual, delicious, filling, inexpensive, and with good service. I don't think either is BYOB.

    Prato - 3891 St-Laurent (near Napoléon) 514-285-161

    La Carretta - 350, rue Saint-Zotique E (corner Drolet) 514-273-8884
