Mi Tierra on S.Kedzie: Is it worth the trip?
We're looking forward to a week in Chicago later this month. My daughter came across Mi Tierra while looking for a fun place to celebrate her 15th birthday. I can't seem to find any mention of it on any recent boards. It's quite a trek from where we're staying (Embassy Suites Lakefront) Is it worth the trip? Do you have another favourite Mexican restaurant to recommend?

You are going deep into the southwest side of the city. Unless you have a car and somewhat familiar with the area, i'd probably pick another place. For a casual, fun birthday, how about Frontera Grill? It is the premier casual Mexican in the city. Just be prepared to wait. There are other great options for Mexican. Look around at all the discussions on this board.
