A friend is looking to try a heritage turkey for Thanksgiving this year, and she was wondering if she might be able to find one locally. Has anyone had any experiences buying heirloom birds from local markets? I'm guessing that local chains like Whole Foods and Fresh Market might be her best bet, but any other leads are appreciated. Also, if anyone has had positive experiences ordering such turkeys online, that would be good to know as well. Thanks.

  1. try The Boys in Delray also the Meating Place in Boca

    1. The Fort Pierce Farmers Market has a local farmer who takes orders each year for heritage birds, she raises them locally. We had one for Thanksgiving last year and it was excellent. Quite different but excellent.
