Dinner before South Shore Music Circus

Going to a show on Saturday. It starts at 7pm, so we'll be having a very early dinner.
Planning on going to a restaurant either in Hingham or Hull, but was wondering if there
are any places in Cohasset that are worth trying? Thanks for your help.

Bernard's restaurant in Cohasset is a good pick as well and very close to the SSMC. It is a chef-owned bistro with a Mediterranean/ecllectic vibe, full bar and good service. http://www.bernardsonline.com/

I agree that Bia in Cohasset or Tosca or Square Cafe in Hingham are your best bets. All have very good food. Square Cafe has the mellowest vibe of the three, Tosca probably the most scene-y (in a very South Shore way) and Bia can be very loud. Personally not a fan of the Red Lion. At the other end of the spectrum from Bia, Tosca and Square Cafe, there is the Hingham Lobster Pound for lobster rolls to eat on the beach at Hingham Harbor.

I have wanted to try Bia Bistro and didn't realize it was " a stones throw away from the music circus" as T.Clark said, so I am thinking it would not be a good time to try it on the night of an event. I have been to all the Hingham recommendations except Cafe Tosca, and Coco Dans comments about it being "lighter and faster" sounds like its a good bet before the show. Thanks everyone.

We like Cafe Tosca before the shows, as it's faster, lighter and less expensive. We always had a nice dinner there. Decent wines by the glass, and a serviceable list.
Waitstaff is alwaysvery good. Did I mention they have good"pasta"?
        Enjoy the show,

          Hi

I like Tosca in Hingham, have had a few yummy dinners there, good cocktails too. Scallops are fab. They have Tosca cafe too but never tried it, assume it is lower price.

I was going to say Tosca or Square Cafe in Hingham. 5 minute drive.

The only place worth mentioning is Bia Bistro. I've dined at Bia a couple of times and the meals served ranged from good to very good. Sort of Meditteranean/French country. If memory serves me correct they only have a beer and wine license which for some could be a deal breaker. Bia is a very small place and is owned by a husband and wife back/front of the house combination which is usually a plus. It does have an intimate sort of date night feel so larger groups may feel out of place. Bia is a stones throw from SSMC. http://www.biabistro.com/

Try the bar at the Red Lion - downtown Cohasset. Good food, cozy bar setting.

hmmm, I don't know about that. My sister in law just went there and thought it wasn't v. good, even with the menu having a "1/2 price sale".
