New Ann Arbor restaurant-Borimex

Michigan Mishuganer Aug 10, 2009 11:04 AM

We 've eaten at Borimex (on State st where Pilars used to be)
twice. It's pretty good (for Ann Arbor)- Mexican &
they have Puerto Rican specials on Fri & Sat.
2285 S State St (734) 222-1770
everything seemed fresh & tasty
had tacos, burrito &
side orders of plantains-
tostones- flatened fried green plantains &
maduros- fried sweet ripe plantains
it's a small place & service is a little slow, but very friendly.
We did not like the tres leches cake, it was a bit stoggy
but main dishes were really good.
the road construction on state st is a pain.

Had some very tasty mofongo last weekend.
The food is really good here.

Cool--that's not an easy dish to find around here. El Comal in Detroit might have it, but I wouldn't swear it's always on the menu there.

It's closed. That building is the Bermuda Triangle of restaurants.

Is this permanent or maybe (i hope) just a temporary close?
