Looking for lunch in Manchester NH

Went to Consuelo's today for lunch--nice people, filled up right after we got there at 12:15. The tacos pastor with pork and cilantro seemed a tad skimpy, but for $5, were delicious. The enchiladas verde with chicken were very good, served with rice and beans, $8.99. I still think La Caretta is a better deal, esp if you use the $2 discount coupon in Hippo. Different flavors, both worth checking out. Have to try the tortas next.

We just did La Caretta's in Derry - and the folks next to us were using a restaurant dot com gc (only in Derry though). We really enjoyed our meal. I like Consuelo's too, and Hermano's in Concord and Cafe Azteca in Lawrence. :-)

Had lunch at La Caretta today--for $7 you can't go wrong. The beef enchilada had some great mole flavors. Hippo Press has a $2 discount coupon for lunch too.

No offense but Puritan Backroom does not belong in the same thread as Mint, Z or Richards!

I concur regarding the Backroom. The Wild Rover does a fine lunch. Often their specials are nice. Consuelo's Taqueria has a great Cuban sandwich. If you're in the mood for pizza, 900 Degrees does wood-fired pizza.

the criteria were local and tasty. I'd say the backroom qualifies, in fact, several dishes(swordfish, shrimp, lamb among others) are top notch. but, the atmosphere is very casual - if that's not desirable then.... yeh, Richard's is great.

I'd call the Puritan a glorified Greek diner with a few well prepared items. But it is definitely the most popular place in town. You will see everybody from the mayor to your next door neighbor at the adjacent table. Waitresses are usually top notch.
