SICHUAN - RECENT UPDATES?
I usually get my ma la fix down south in the San Gabriel Valley but this regional cuisine is not what it once was at the few restaurants left there! Several places have closed, chefs have moved on sometimes to other areas of California and some seem to have returned to their homeland.
I've searched this board and there are so many posts but most are not particularily recent. So Bay Area Hounds, for a single diner (no giant hot pots) which Sichuan restaurants currently reign supreme? I'll be staying in Berkeley, heading up to Russian River Brewing Co. in Santa Rosa and towards the end of the week I'll stay in San Jose so anywhere from S.R. to S.J. would be cool (or hopefully hot/numbing)!
Thanks....

re: yimster
Wikipedia explains a little bit about Taiwanese food
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwanes...
which can get confusing because there are elements from all kinds of Chinese in many places and restaurants.
You can easily find Sichuan food in Taiwan, also very popular.
