Where to eat in Rome on Christmas eve/day
Going to be in Rome during Christmas and have been told that most things aren't open. Does any one have any suggestions for decent places to eat in the Aventine area (or near)?

Had the same issue when we were there several years ago during Christmas. Christmas day itself was ok. Christmas eve there were hardly any restaurants open. We ended up having a transcendental meal at Il Pagliaccio. Not exactly the Aventine area, but the choices are slim.

There is practically no place to eat in the Aventine area on a normal day (though the Testaccio quarter is adjacent), so forget that. The hotels, some of which have excellent restaurants, will be open. I believe Grano, near the Pantheon, is open 365 days a year, as is Gusto. While most places will be closed, enough will be open. It's still early, but news of which are open will appear closer to the time. Rome will be full of tourists and they won't go to bed hungry.
